Christmas party season has started

.Yeah the month of my departments, the IT department, along with finance one team of the month. One of the benefits of this is that we get given 500 pains to go out and spend however we see fit.

Friday the 13th and there is talking about going out to the staff party. Anybody done is apart from me. Early on in the day I was told that the other Friday when I went out made a complete arsehole of myself and that’s when I decided I need to pull myself away from people.

I think I did it in the right way. I went to the cashpoint, with due £25 I made a donation to the finance department with the proviso being No soft drinks are to be purchased with my money.

“We don’t want your money, we want your company” One of the girls in the finance department said who looked almost genuinely shocked that I wasn’t going. I’ll admit that my heart did sink little bit when I saw her reaction but I made up my mind, hopefully for the best.

My work colleagues were asking me if I was going and I said yes even though I had no intention of going. I carefully laid the seeds of doubt as to if I would be going but promised them that no matter what I would give them a lift home.

To further add to life’s complications I was also expected to go and play darts that night. Something that I was most definitely not in the mood for.

So was my brilliantly curated
Drive home from work, 30 miles
Sit down for half an hour
Drive to my local which is now 10 miles away
Drive darts team to town, 6 miles away

By now the time would be about 8 PM so I will text my work colleagues to tell them that I wasn’t coming. Which I did

Play the first game of darts and at about 915 head towards Tenby. Which is the best part of a 40 minute drive Upon getting a reply to say they wanted to be picked up. Drive them home which takes about another 40 minutes, go back to the park pick up the dance team and take them back to the local. And then finally I get home

I text both my work colleagues and got no reply. I also sent them an instant message using Viber and no reply.

My night ended up being one of three people sat in the pub having a pint

Tl The next morning I did get a message from one of my colleagues but that was about it.

From what I heard so far it was a hell of a night including one of my college stopping stark bollock naked and giving her and his underwear to the woman in case he said she would like to have my company.

To further piss me off on Saturday I got called into work and I was a problem I was struggling with. Once again, nobody replies to any my messages. Even a simple polite “sorry I’m outside can’t help” would’ve been nice but no, I got nothing.

Me on the other hand, I would bend over backwards to help them out if they bothered to ring or text me. Am I expecting too much?

By all accounts it was a fabulous night had by all on one that will have many, many good memories.

My life lesson from this? You know how sometimes you go out just because you think you’re going to miss something. Don’t go out, miss that something and just enjoy the fact that other people are having a good time.

What has happened to the second hand car market?

What has happened to the second hand car market?

Yeah the morning was the final straw for me. She failed to start once again I’m yes of course I know it’s a mixture of the alternator and the battery failing in perfect harmony with each other. That’s just one of the many things wrong with my new motor.

I shan’t talk about how shockingly bad the mpg is all the fact it makes the most ridiculous chapping noise below 3000 Rand, which all Peugeot cars do.

So for r once in my life I actually have a few savings and the ability to properly get a loan or finance. You would think there would be plenty of choices out there when you’ve got between 2000 and £3000 to spend but you’d be wrong.

I always had a sneaky suspicion that the governments part exchange program from a few years ago decimate the second hand car market and now it’s actually come to fruition.

Ideally I would like a golf or some other German engineered car because time has told me that their reliability it unrivalled to the point of almost being Japanese like.

Within 100 mile radius of me the only golf that I found was £3000 and has 165,000 miles on the clock. “Aha” why don’t I go for the cheaper version of the golf, namely the Skoda or the seat But even those models, once considered inferior, are holding their value incredibly well.

I’ve also taken a look at BMW or Mercedes but once again there is another trade-off to be had. Yes I can get something for about £2500 but then I’m sacrificing fuel economy. Seeing as my diesel bill for the last week was £80 I have to get something that borders on slightly economical LOL

Even if I push my budget up to £5000 the pickings are still slim and remember this is within 100 mile radius no end of car dealerships around me.

So if anyone in the UK is reading this I knows of a half tidy motor let me know.

PS I do read and reply to all comments when I get home LOL

Dictated but not read. It’s been a funny old day

Dictated but not read.

As Arkwright would say it’s been a funny old day today.

7:15 AM. The alarm goes off and the first thing I notice is that it’s a little bit nippy. God knows I hate waking up alone, especially on days like this. I permit myself to have a little daydream and think about the last person I woke up with. Unsurprisingly I feel a little sad.

8:20 AM. The big ex-girlfriend gets in touch once again wanting something from me. This time, without even so much as a good morning, she wants to know how to print from her iPhone. No hello or anything. See the picture below

9 AM. Getting the most strangest pains in my chest. Don’t worry if not a heart-attack just a little warning that something old is going to happen in Mark’s world. The sensation was so intense that it resulted in me almost doubling over more than once. What was going on in the universe wouldn’t be revealed to me until later.

1:30 PM. Out of the blue from nowhere I get the message from my half sister Chloe. I’m absolutely surprised and flabbergasted to have heard from her in such a long time as I have sent a few messages via iMessage.

2:30 PM. My Polish woman decides to email me directly in work. Needing help “with the computer”. Seeing as she didn’t even bother to wave to me as I was leaving work yesterday that email got promptly deleted

5:30 PM decided to take the dog for a walk. Quickly realised that my leg, in particularly my calf muscle, isn’t fixed yet.

6:30 PM. I’m not quite sure why everyone seems to be so keen to declare this week is the end of summer. 21° at this time of the day still feels fairly summeey.

So all in all a bit of a strange day culminating with the final thought for the afternoon.

If you go to play Pink Floyd on the radio what’s the point? You’re only going to talk over the best bit which is the guitar solo.

I have a distinct feeling that things are going to be calmer and a lot more settled in my world

PS does anybody think dictated but not read is a good name for a website?
